Google adsense metrics for Nepal

July 13th, 2012 2 comments

mountain nepal buddha airGoogle inside adsense blog last month published the percentage of ads impression metrics for 235 country. These countrys included the island country of Palau – one of the world’s newest sovereign states – and the middle-African nation of Equatorial Guinea, with astounding growth rates of 1106% and 4635% respectively.

Google Adsense NepalUnited states is still the largest in ads impression of 24.7%, where China and Japan are at 11% and 6% respectively. As you can see on image the Nepal in gray color that means including all the country in gray color share the 12.8% of total ads impression. Which clearly shows that the google adsense ads impression in Nepal as individual is much low in percentage. I reckon country in gray color also represent the degree of development and internet communication. Anyway in coming future hope to see Nepal going up in impression and development. Read more…

Easy way to create Email signature in Gmail with images and HTML

That is by straight enabling some features in google lab Canned Responses and Inserting images.

First you need to go to settings and lab, enable canned responses and Inserting images.

  • Just go to compose mail, there you can see Canned Responses just below Subject field and insert image icon on formating bar.
  • Next create your signature as you want. To include images go to the image icon in formating bar where you can upload the image from your computer or you can give the link, after finishing  your desired email signature save it using Canned Responses giving some meaningful name.
  • Now any time you compose new email you can just go to canned responses and insert the signature.
  • You can create multiple email signature as you need.

Here is a screen shot of gmail email signature with images and HTML that I have created.

HTML email signature is not automatically included when you send email, this is the tricks which can be done as email signature. Every time when you compose the email you need to insert the signature through Canned responses selecting the desired signature.

Here is a video showing how to create HTML email signature in gmail from labnol.org

How NTC reduce cost by installing Google cache server in Nepal

How NTC reduce its cost with the installation of google cache server?

Recently Google installed it’s cache server in Nepal at Internet Exchange Point of Nepal telecom (NTC).

NTC is the only and biggest internet service provider in Nepal. It has certain bandwidth limit which NTC have to pay. Let say for example NTC bought 500MBPS internet bandwidth, that means NTC has maximum capacity of 500MBPS to transfer data at a time. It gives services to its customers by dividing the internet bandwidth of 500MBps , let say for 1000 customers if it divide equally,  it would be (5000/1000)=500Kbps for each customer.

If  all the 1000 customers excess the internet at a time using its full capacity of 500kbps, then the maximum (1000*500kbps=500MBps) capacity of the NTC will be used up. If there are more customer added let say 100 more customer, total will be 1100, if they excess the the internet same time they can’t get full bandwidth what they have of (500kbps) so its divided as (500MBps/1100) = 363.64kbps per customer.

Google Server in Nepal

September 16th, 2011 1 comment

Google Inc installed the Google cache server in Nepal at NTC  office Jawalakhel Internet Exchange Point, operated by Nepal Telecom(NTC).

A Google cache server is a dedicated network server that saves Web pages or other Internet content locally. By placing previously requested information in temporary storage, or cache, a cache server both speeds up access to data and reduces demand on an enterprise’s bandwidth.

With the installation of google cache server the services provided by Google will be faster than before. Google services such as Gmail, Youtube etc will now be accessed faster from Nepal. This will also help NTC by reducing its bandwidth access and reduce its cost.

“After the installation of Google server, Internet bandwidth uses of NTC has been decreased” Said NTC representatives.
