Windows 7 Logon Changer

Windows 7 provides the means to change the logon background image without third party hacks or any other kind of system files manipulation as it was required in previous Microsoft Windows operating systems. The process had been primarily designed for the OEM market but the option was available for anyone in the latest builds of Windows 7. It did involve adding or changing a value in the Registry and replacing or adding image files to a specific location on the computer’s hard drive.

We suspected that it would not take long before a software developer would come up with an automated way of changing the Windows 7 logon background. The first application that was released is Logon Changer. The software program provides the means to customize the Windows 7 logon background by giving the user the opportunity to pick another background image from the computer system.

A click on Change Logon Screen will open a file browser that can be used to load another background image into the application. A click on the Test button in the main interface will show a preview of how the Windows 7 logon screen will look like if the user decides to make the changes. The Logon Changer application will perform all the required steps automatically for the user which means that the user will only have to select a new background image in the process manually.

The user can reset the changes again by clicking on the Revert to default logon screen button in the software program. Logon Changer has a size of roughly 250 Kilobytes and is compatible with all Windows 7 builds from build 7000 onwards.
