You may have installed countless add-on in Firefox to enhance your using experience, but if you want to get the most out of Firefox, you really have to hack your way into the about:config.
The about:config page contains most (if not, all) of Firefox configuration options. It is so far the most effective, and the most powerful way to tweak and enhance your Firefox performance. Here are 28 of the popular tweaks.

FIREFOX IS WELL placed to take advantage of the so-called Web2.0 -becoming an information broker instead of being only an application to display web pages. With its
nature of being made for actively pulling content, and a very large community around it that constantly keeps improving it, Firefox has been the browser of choice for a lot of web services and it is routinely seen that developers target this browser first when releasing a new service.
The fact that it is open-source helps too; it gets extended far beyond its original capabilities with the help of add-ons made by developers and enthusiastic users.
Today i have just looked on my web statistic to see which browser is most used. I was sure that firefox will be on top, but i don’t believe that firefox has over 50%.
I think it is due to its descent performance, as well it’s cool add ons. So, Firefox Rocks!!!
Block Ads Now!
Closing the gate to sneaky ads no matter what the browser
Advertisements are annoying to all of us. Thy do create revenue for sites, but most of the time, they are of little importance to the user and all they do is nibble away at your bandwidth. Sometimes, they can show inappropriate content as well. We are going to look at ways to disable or at least hide the ads off the screen with pretty much any of the most used browsers.

Firefox Bookmarks
Firefox keeps a record of sites you visit often, and generates a list of “Smart Bookmarks” that you can create your own list of smart bookmarks using custom queries instead of URLs as well. Right-click on the Bookmarks toolsbar and choose New Bookmark. Use a descriptive name for the bookmark, and under Location, enter one of the queries below (whichever suits your fancy, or tweak them to get the results you want):

Know Where You’re Going, I mean redirects
You can set Firefox (I have done this for Firefox3) to tell you when the site you’re viewing redirects to another site-sometimes you may end up far from where you want to be. To enable this, go to Tools > Options (or Edit > Preferences if you’re using Linux) > Advanced. Under General, check the box against Warn me when sites try to redirect or reload the page. Henceforth, you’ll get a warning bar every time a site redirects you.
