Facebook Backtracks

FACEBOOK HAS Finally agreed to let users who wish to delete their accounts remove every bit of personal information from the site. A New York Times article brought the data policy into the public eye. Facebook used to keep all user information-photographs, contact information, and other details- in its database, even after user had deleted their profiles. Facebook has now promised to make it easy to leave without leaving anything behind. The method is still sell-hidden though, and you need to dig around to find a particular form. The previous policy raised the hackles of privacy advocates, and Facebook was starting to face an investigation. This move may seem designed to take some of the heat off, but at least it’s positive step forward.
